Heineken Museum, also known as Heineken Experience, is located just 5 minutes walk from the Museumplein and next to most attractions in Amsterdam. It’s one of the most popular tourist attractions, where visitors can experience first hand the history, the manufacturing process and the distribution of the most international Dutch beer.

Located on the premises of the nineteenth century former brewery and converted into a museum in 1991, the tour  is divided into three parts:

First part: The corporate history of the company

History of Gerard, Henry and Alfred Heineken, grandfather, son and grandson, respectively, the three most important figures in the company and who made what it is today, the philosophy of business, their business models, their ideas. … the history of Heineken from its beginnings in 1873 when Gerard Heineken founded the company to this day. His granddaughter Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken is currently leading the company.

Second part: The manufacturing

Water, barley malt, hops and yeast. The four ingredients necessary for its manufacturing; at this stage of the visit, visitors enter the process of brewing step by step, while enjoying a tour of the old premises, where beer was traditionally manufactured.

Third part: Distribution and corporate image.

Bottling, labeling, distribution, advertising, sponsorship …. the most interactive part of the visit … the corporate image of Heineken from within.

At the end of the visit, there are two Heineken beers included and, as a bonus, the visitor can learn how to pour their own beer.
