In the town of Zaandam, just 12 km north of Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans, with a million visitors annually is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the north of Holland. During your visit you will take part of a 18th and 19th century Dutch living and working community. Relocated in that location piece by piece in 1961 and built in the typically Dutch wooden architectural style.

Barns, wooden windmills, houses, museums… there is so much to see, taste, smell and discover. Zaanse Schans is an amazing visit where you can also visit traditional clogs and cheese shops where is recreated how they were made ​​at the time and you are able to buy that products.

The visit will take you half a day, admission to Zaanse Schans is free of charge.

Opening hours:

During the high season (April till November) everything is open between 10 am and 17 pm.

In low season is not open everything the whole week. The opening times are different. Check the Zaanse Schans website to know about opening times.
